10.27.08 - NEIP Dinner and Silent Auction last night a huge success! 28 people attended, and others who could not attend contribute. The goal of the dinner/auction was to help raise funds for a much needed water pump for Yimjenkimong Village. While NEIP's objective for the dinner was to help raise funds towards this goal, we were pleased to find out by the end of the night that with all contributions made that evening, money not only exceeded our goal, but all monies needed to purchase the pump and supplies were donated. Plans are now under way to purchase and install the water pump this winter. 10.04.08 - Childrens Education Fund is now under way with over $1000 USD donated in two weeks. NEIP's goal is to get the 30 children that currently do not go to school in Yimjenkimong Village, back to school. Total funds needed to be raised for this effort is $4500 USD. If you wish to help send one child to school for one year, you can do so here. 10.01.08 - Dr. Lancaster, DDS of Williamston, South Carolina generously donates 144 toothbrushes and 72 tubes of toothpaste. 9.07.08 - NEIP makes plans for a dinner & silent auction to be held at Royal India Restaurant on October 26, 2008 in Denver, Colorado. For more information on this fundraiser, and to RSVP, please click here. 8.19.08 - Sunstar Americas, Inc. generously donates 250 toothbrushes towards Yimjenkimong Village. Toothbrushes will be part of a Health Care Pack scheduled to be delivered to the village in December of this year. 8.08.08 - An article was published today by the Morung Express, a local newspaper in Nagland, India. event. The first 30 minutes will be open to look at (and purchase if
you like) art and handicraft made by the people of Yimjenkimong Village
in Nagaland, India, as well as photography from India. The last 20-25
minutes will be a short presentation of NEIP, and tell you a little

Click here for more SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT! 10.25.07 - Two used PC computers were donated to Yimjenkimong Village, from Alliance for Community Capacity Building in Northeast India (http://www.accb.org.uk), partnering with the Prag Foundation (http://www.pragfoundation.net). Two teachers from the village were sent to Guwahati, Assam for computer training that was provided by ACCBNI in October of 2007. Once training was finished by the teachers, they were given the computers and taken to the village. The teachers will be responsible for teaching the children the basics of computer usage, as well as using it as a teaching aid. These are the first two computers to ever be in the village. It will be the first time that most of the people of the village will be seeing what a computer is and does. NEIP hopes to be able to provide more computers over the next couple years. |
